Shredded Sandpiper...

While out in the field last week we found this Common Sandpiper chick that appeared to have been shredded by a strimmer on the verge of a path.

If your managment plan is to remove all the wild flowers and insects then please check for nests before you do this so you don't directly destroy the birds as well.

The parents of this Common Sandpiper chick made an amazing journey up from North Africa to raise a family up here in the UK.
